Literature Text

The sun is awake
And the grass is covered with dew
The old day is gone
And the world starts anew

The dogs and cats yawn
The ants get to work
All the flowers breathe
And stretch in the earth

The squirrels gather there nuts
And gently wake the trees
And the wind blows a kiss
To send a rattle through the leaves

The whole world dances
In it’s musical silence
‘Til the humans wake
And makes it all violent
I was in the middle of writing when someone on an obnoxiously loud bike drove by and gave me my ending.

Fantastic poem. The ending was top notch. I always find watching nature to be therapeutic until somebody spoils it with the urban creep of their obnoxious noise. Ugh. Terrible to have such a scene of beauty molested by such disregard.
